Rainbow Dash Radicalness Competition Sweater by penniavaswen Rainbow Dash Radicalness Competition Sweater by penniavaswen
I started knitting this just after "May the Best Pet Win" aired in November 2011 and finished the front with the RD design within about a week, but then (like ALWAYS), I got bored with the normal stuff (like making a back, the 2nd sleeve, the ZZZZZzzzzz.....) and put it down until just after the New Year.

Suddenly, BronyCon was coming up and I hadn't finished it! Panicking, I raced to finish off the sleeves and literally stayed up until 4 am seaming it together. It was still a hair bit damp when I got to convention (at the time, I was living about 4 blocks away from the Penn Hotel).

And OH GOD. It was like 60 bucking degrees that day! In winter! D:

Anyways, despite my procrastination, it turned out fairly well. I accidentally felted the sleeves a wee bit since they were still damp when I wore it (and I was moving around, and sweating -- GROSS) and the bottom was a little short for my tall frame, but I tried to remain faithful to the Eagle's design.

Knitted in 100% wool from Cascade Yarn's Cascade 220 in various colors (if someone really cares, I can probably go dig them up), using approximately 1400 yards (about 3/4 of a mile of yarn!)

Designed by me! I used Photoshop to enlarge the pixels and didn't even make a full-blown chart, which meant I was tied to my computer the whole time. The basic sweater design was modified from Ann Budd's template.

Time taken: 3 hours design + ~15 hours knitting

EDIT: Pictures were taken on my fire escape because it was too damn hot to venture very far outside, carrying a wool sweater.

This is AWESOME. Is it on Ravelry? I know people who'd pay you for this pattern.

Yeah, I like how cartoony she appears in the design from having fewer details. A ton of ends to weave in, but totally worth it! :thanks:
